Nan Byrne lives in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
A graduate of State University of New York, she has
an MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Her poetry has appeared in many literary magazines
and anthologies including New Orleans Review,
Seattle Review, Potomac Review,
Grove Review, Borderlands,Canadian Woman Studies/les cahiers de femme,
Critical Matrix: The Princeton Journal of Women, Gender, and Culture,
Other Voices International, Slipstream, Earth's Daughters, Flint Hills Review, Cream City Review,
So to Speak: A Feminist Journal of Language and Art, Phoebe, Red Mountain Review, Caketrain, and elsewhere. She is a recipient of grants from the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts and the Vermont Studio Center and has won awards for her screenplays.
